Alexandria Film Festival

The award-winning documentary film “Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco” will be screening at the 2015 Alexandria Film Festival in Alexandria, Virginia on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 1pm. The director of the film, Sterling Noren will be attending the festival and available for questions and answers after the screening.

About the Festival:

The Ninth Annual Alexandria Film Festival returns to AMC Hoffman Theater 22, which will be the site of all ticketed events, with Beatley Central Library again offering free program to the public.

For the past six years, the festival has presented a diverse and imaginative array of feature films, documentaries, and shorts by U.S. and foreign filmmakers, including several works of Washington-area producers and directors. The festival’s mission is to establish Alexandria as a venue for creating, exhibiting, and experiencing film by reaching out to local, national, and international filmmakers and to foster awareness of the cultural and educational value of cinema among Alexandria’s diverse and influential audience.

The award-winning documentary film “Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco” will be screening at the 2015 Ladek Mountain Film Film Festival. The festival takes place September 17-20, 2015 in Ladek-Zdroj, Poland.

The year 2015 marks the 20th edition of Mountain Film Festival in Ladek, the greatest and oldest Polish event of this kind. Several thousand enthusiasts of outdoor adventure & mountain sports will come in September to this little town in the south of Poland (very close to Czech Republic and Germany) to participate. The award-winning documentary film “Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco” will be screening at The International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration, and Equality in Jakarta, Indonesia. The festival event will be from September 14-22, 2015 in Jakarta to celebrate the United Nations World Peace Day 2015.

The International Film Festival for Peace, Inspiration, and Equality was established as a means of supporting and promoting film filmmakers all over the world. The festival’s mission is to promote films that tackle peace, inspiration, and equality issues, each with their unique methods of storytelling.

DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival

The award-winning documentary film “Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco” will be screening at the 2015 DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival in St. George, Utah on Thursday September 9th, 2015 at 8:15pm. The screening will take place in the The DiFiore Center (Pine View Stadium 10).

DOCUTAH International Film Festival is presented by Dixie State University in St. George, Utah. The festival runs each year in September and has consistently garnered submissions from all over the world. The 2015 festival is the sixth year of run. Attendees to the Festival have the opportunity to meet filmmakers and interact with them in seminars, panels and social events.

“Run Free” Executive Producer Maria Walton will be participating in a seminar scheduled on September 9th from 2:30 to 3:45pm.

Inkafest Mountain Film Festival

InkafestThe award-winning documentary film “Run Free – The True Story of Caballo Blanco” will be screening at the 2015 Inkafest Mountain Film Festival in Lima, Peru. The screening is part of the Running Film Festival at Inkafest.

The film by director Sterling Noren chronicles the life of American ultra running legend Micah True (Caballo Blanco, or the White Horse) and his quest to create an ultra marathon in Mexico’s Copper Canyon to promote and preserve Tarahumara running tradition. True was a main character in Christopher McDougall’s best-selling book “Born to Run – A Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen”.

Inkafest is organized a Mountain & Culture, a cultural non-profit organization whose objectives is to approach the sports community and the people in town to offer films, exhibitions, and all kinds of activities focusing on the mountain sports, adventure, environment and culture of the people. The Festival also creates a platform for the exchange of ideas between filmmakers, athletes and the public, at the same time supports the most artistic and effective ways of communicating everything related to the world of the mountain. The aim of this festival is to highlight the importance of ecology, environment, preservation of the mountains and nature in the world today. The Festival also features a spectacular region for the practice of adventure sports, extreme and mountaineering by the Films geography.
